Billabong laptop to go with your boardies
Sony's teamed up with Billabong to try to sell Vaio netbooks to a younger, tech-savvy audience.
When going for a surf or swim, we don't see too many folks leaving laptops on the sand along with their towels and thongs. However, should you want your computer to coordinate with your surf gear, Sony has teamed up with Billabong to release a laptop designed to match the Aussie designer's 2010 summer board short range.
The Vaio W series Imperial Lime notebook is clad in lime green, blue and black hand-drawn art that is intended to represent "the vibrant colour palette that helped define surf fashion in the 1980's". The special edition mini notebook also comes loaded with Billabong images and episodes of a planned new TV series featuring some of Billabong's boardsport athletes.
The Vaio Imperial Lime has a 10.1-inch screen, which should be big enough for checking out surf cams. It also has a 250GB hard drive, two USB ports and a built-in webcam and microphone. It will be available in Australia from June 2010 at AU$749 RRP, but Billabong's 2010 summer range doesn't hit retailers until July, so you may have to wait a bit longer to score your matching boardies.
