App of the Day: IntelliScreen

Sick of your phone's screen turning off? Customise how long it stays on for each application with IntelliScreen.

Welcome to CNET Australia's App of the Day, where you can see some of the coolest, silliest and most useful apps in action.

IntelliScreen is one of the coolest and useful apps for Android that we've seen in a while. It allows you to control your screen's time-outs and create custom settings for a variety of applications. Looking at recipes on a web browser? You can set the phone not to switch the screen off when you're running that application, for example. You can set an "always on" position that uses your device's accelerometer to detect when you want your screen to stay on, or you could set it to turn the screen off if the phone is in the dark (eg, a bag or pocket) using a light detector (pro version). It also has a useful screen-lock widget that can lock your screen with a single tap.
