App of the Day: Draw Something

Get your sketching fingers unholstered for the hottest new social game of 2012.

Welcome to CNET Australia's App of the Day, where you can see some of the coolest, silliest and most useful apps in action.

What if Words with Friends was more like Pictionary? That's what you've got with Draw Something, the app that challenges you to sketch a picture and send it to your friends so they can guess what it is. When they guess, you both win, making it a rare cooperative experience. That's pretty much it, but the challenge of drawing with your finger on a tiny screen makes it funny, and it has that really addictive quality you can only get when waiting for your friend to take their turn.

The free version gets you the basic game; if you get the paid version, you get the ad-free version and more words.
