Great-sounding new music is becoming increasingly rare, so when I find noteworthy efforts I'm happy to share the news. Granted, personal taste plays a big part in defining sound quality. That said, the sound trend of late leans toward being harsh and grating. I'm not opposed to grit that's an intrinsic part of the music, I just can't stand recordings made by people who either don't know what they're doing or are too deaf to notice the error of their ways.

What follows is a roundup of the best-sounding recently released albums I've played at home, so I'm sure I've missed some great ones. Share your finds in the comments section.
