Instagram has announced via a blog post that its popular social photography network now has 100 million active users each month.

Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom used the announcement to name a few Instagram users who he finds particularly inspiring and impressive.

The company was acquired by Facebook last year, and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg posted a congratulatory note to Instagram on her Facebook page.

The announcement certainly seems to put to rest any rumours of Instagram users fleeing the service in wake of the famous revision (and subsequent reversion) of its terms and services last year.
