Unfriend someone on Facebook while staying friends

This one is a real pro tip when you've decided you're tired of seeing updates from someone on your friend list, but you don't want to entirely unfriend them.

Sorry, you are not old enough to view this content.

This one is a real pro tip when you've decided you're tired of seeing updates from someone on your friend list, but you don't want to entirely unfriend them.

Facebook has a new option that gives you all the benefits of unfriending without having to burn your bridges forever.

Next time you see one of their updates in your news stream, hover your mouse over their name. Now you'll see a pop-up box that offers both a "Friend" and a "Subscribe" option.

Now you can manage what friend lists you have them on, but also how often you'll see their news. You can adjust down just a little to "Only Important" or you can silence them completely with Unsubscribe. And they'll never have to know how little you care.

You can also see these same settings at the top right of any friend's main Facebook page.
