IrDA infrared data association IrDA's goal is to establish standards for the exchange of data over infrared waves. Infrared technology would let devices "beam" information to each other in the same way that your remote control tells the TV to change the channel. You could, for example, beam a document to your printer instead of having to connect a cable. The IrDA standard has been widely adopted by PC and consumer electronics manufacturers. Windows 98 will also support the IrDA standard. |
