In years past, Apple CEO Steve Jobs argued that people want to download music and own it. Now CNET News.com has confirmed talks with the big music labels over a possible shift to subscriptions. So why would Jobs consider a subscription service now? The idea of recurring revenue is sweet, especially with iPod unit sales growth slowing. For users, it would mean you don't need to own or manage your music anymore.

Responding to questions about the product reliability of its notebooks with solid-state drives, Dell says, "No worries, we're doing fine." Plus, the Hubble spacecraft has found the first organic molecule on an extrasolar planet. In scientific circles, that qualifies as a very big deal.
