  • FTC: Thx, but No Thx...
As if the FTC, or anyone in anybody's gov't can do anything about any form of computer malware.

I've much more faith in my firewall, antivirus sw, antispyware sw, and antispam sw to keep the idiots at bay, than the gov't.

  • Hear! Hear! for Mozilla!!!
Have my EUs on Netscape which helps keep us (thank the Creator) from spyware/virii problems. Nevertheless, I'm not an idiot, I do have Spybot S&D on all PCs and have run it periodically.

Since you like Netscape 7.1, do give Firefox 0.8 a go. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ Have been running it for about four months now and is it *sweet*. The Adblock extension is the icing on the cake. You can use wildcards with the domains and it really speeds things up. I just hate it when I have to use a EU's browser without it.

  • People, This Ain't Rocket Science
If you have stuff you don't want the boss or the old lady to read, use your own mail client with something like Tracks Eraser and GhostSurf. For that matter, if your worried about what the boss reads, don't go there while at work.

    DUH!!!!!!!

  • BSODs During Phone Calls !?!
    <Snerk>, <Giggle>, <Snort>

Just can't wait to hear the howls of despair when the cell phone BSODs a few times.

Just had a horrible thot. Hope these companies up their liability insurance. Wait until someone has a BSOD during a 911 call. <GULP>

  • Which is Why I Use Yahoo
Irrespective if you are free user or pay for the additional options like I do, Yahoo! is always up. Hotmail went down the tubes when M$ bought it.

  • Denial Ain't a River in Egypt
As the 12-steppers say, you gotta admit the problem before you can do anything about it.

  • Redmond Borg Assimilated SCO Already
Think I'm being paranoid? What about M$ long-time history of buying out rivals it couldn't drive out of business. Check out this other CNET story:

Like I commented on that one, "if it looks, quacks, and poops like a duck...."

  • Lookin' Quackin' and Pooping like M$
An old wheeze sez "If it looks, quacks, and poops like a duck, dude, it just might be a freakin' duck."

Now we know why SCO has been able to be greedy-lawsuit-crazy lately. M$ux has been their secret sugar daddy funding all these loverly lawsuits..

Under the radar, SCO's been assimilated into the Redmond Borg collective. Sure, while it *looks* like they are independent SCO, they can lawsuit-lie their way into controlling Linux.

Just as soon as they've won enough lawsuits, M$ will come up with it's own buggy and insecure version, Linux 2005 anyone? Or better yet, M$ Lindows? Sure would explain THAT lawyer-enriching lawsuit.

  • So Long SCO, it was Real
Like anyone with SCO Unix sw and/or stock will want to keep either after this debacle. Rather than invest their hard-earned $$$ in making the OS competitive with Linux, the lord high mucky-mucks at SCO would rather invest in lawyers.

Now that's a really sound business plan, NOT. Ok, so Bill "son of the Antichrist" Gates uses it. But SCO doesn't nearly have the $$$ to p*** away like M$ux does.
