  • Kudos to CNET for reporting its own bad news
I respect CNET for having the balls to post a report - albiet from reuters - on its own failings.

On a related matter - I'm not investor in the company, but I wonder how this companhy cas stay a float with the consistent losses it reports each quarter? I'd hate to see CNET fold.. but can someone explain to me how this company can continue to lose millions each quarter and still keep the lights on? The company must be carrying some serious debt. I'd hate to see it follow the same "last green mile" as Ziff Davis.

It would really suck if CNET shut down. It's one of the sharpest tech news sites on the Net.

  • Re: I doubt it happened the way it's being presented
You sound like an editor with first-hand experience to kowtowing to CEO's, advertisers, and editors that check their ethics at the door.

  • Your Reputation is All You've Got
I'm surprised PC World's powers-that-be don't realize your reputation is all you've got. Kudos to McCracken for taking this principled stand.

In an effort to chase ad dollars Crawford does not serve its readers by sucking up to advertisers. This is what happens when you put an advertiser's advocate in charge of editorial and tell the journalist to check their ethics at the door.
