  • You need to add the data usage.
My son uses his phone for a lot being an avid FPS player and the girlfriends .... Chuckle.
While LTE on a phone is nice, more and more, from home, he will use a tablet to do many of the same things to avoid his data cap. As a result the phone / tablet excluding calling is interchangeable. We talked about getting him an LTE tablet but that would require a shared data plan - hideously expensive. He also used his tablet (Transformer + keyboard) as his "laptop" for school. Works well.

  • One thing to keep in mind is data transfer on your plan.
I switched from an SGS2 Skyrocket with an added 32gb msd card to a Galaxy Nexus with 16gb and nocard option. I did change my habits and used the cloud as my optional "memory".
I works fairly well BUT my data usage tripled.

  • I'll have to leverage your description :-)
    Good one!

  • @Kevico.....
    Scale vertically? Which apps?
I have yet to find a single app that does this.

  • That said it makes you wonder why the iMini did not launch with the iPad3 chipset....

  • It is amazing the extremes posters will go to in order to "validate" the release of a device that is based off of out dated tech. Get real! The iMini is a scaled down iPad2. As of this date, the iPad2 did not get all the iOS6 functionality, it cannot or has difficulty running retina apps and te number of new apps designed for the iPad2 tech is almost nil. This all applies to the iMini!
I cannot find a legitimate reason the iMini did not get at minimum the iPad3 hardware.

Someone needs to grow up and be a it more mature.

  • I think it will rely heavily on what Google builds into the app.
I can see Apple rejecting it if it has more than bare bones map functionality.
There is not a single map app in the iTunes store that is using the Google api's.
That is a cause for concern.

  • @kaibelg - go do some real looking up and rewrite your post.
Apple wanted full Google map functionality (what others pay for, not the freebie stuff hey were using) for little to no cost AND wanted to put it under the Apple label. In return Google wanted to include the additional map linked functions.
    Apple said no.

  • You so miss the authors point.
The changes in Windows 8 are substantial enough from a user control point that it is almost easier, actually it is easier to switch to OSX, than to go from Windows 7 or XP to Windows 8. So many changes were done with a tablet in mind and shoehorned into a laptop/desktop (non touch) environment.

Having tested this since the initial beta release, I still feel it is incomplete. I have one pc to allow me Windows 8 support for my clients. It sits right alongside my single MBP.
For now, Windows 7 is my main O?
