  • You are obviously misinformed. The Storm was being developed well before the iPhone, so yes there would have been a Storm. The market was leaning towards touchscreen phones the last few years so it was inevitable for RIM to release one. Just like Nokia finally released a flip phone a while ago after never doing so.
I'm really not hating on Apple. I have an iPod and two BlackBerry's (one for work and one for personal use). The iPod, although not a phone, is probably the best designed and usuable mp3 player out. Each has iths own benefits depending on ones needs. I just can't understand how there are so many fan boys out there that refuse to try anything else. I honestly believe that Bill Gates would have to become CEO of Apple before the fanboys would jump ship. And they wouldn't jump ship because the product changed, they'd just jump because it was the former Microsoft CEO. In reply to: "BlackBerry Storm customers complain"

  • The Storm is the perfect device for heavy text'ers and email'ers. The browers is great for simple web browsing, the Calendar is well...a Calendar, what else do you want from it??? If you want an advanced Calendar, go to your computer and open Outlook. The video and music player work exactly as they should and so does the camera. Those bashing the touchscreen saying it's slow etc obviously should be wearing helmets when operating technical devices. I text faster on the Storm than I did on the Treo, and I could type very long messages on the Treo in a matter of 30 seconds. You do NOT have to press the screen in and wait for the letter to appear simply because of the Sure Press technology. You can easily type multiple letters in unison when typing a message. I don't pause at all during texting.
True, the Storm has software glitches, but what phone doesn't? It launched just over two months ago and already people are saying how inferior it is to the iPhone which has been out over 18 months?!?!?! WOW. Give the phone some time. The first software update greatly alleviated many problems that existed during the initial rollout.
So many iPhone fan boys refuse to let go of or even ease up about how great all of Apple's products are. But facts are facts. There are wayyyyyyyyy more RIM devices in circulation than there are iPhones. I see BlackBerry's at a ratio of 5 to 1 over iPhones. If Apple products are soooooooooooooooooo great, then why don't they hold the majority share of the market??? Well it's simple. They are targeted for a specific use. Entertainment and digital editing.
And I'm tired of the media putting words into RIM's mouth calling the Storm the iPhone killer. They never once put it up against nor market it against the iPhone, nor did any of the other touchscreen companies that launched the G1 or the HTC Touch or the Instinct. THE MEDIA CREATED THIS NOTION. They are all just touchscreen phones.
@@ Clynx-Verizon's data plans are not overpriced. Why you would need to download more than 5GB of data in a month is astounding unless you're the CEO of a major company or have a serious problem with pron...I pay less than $100/month for my bill. • KONAGOLD,

You couldn't be more correct. This article makes no sense at all. Until BlackBerry/RIM users start jumping to iPhone's, the market isn't tilting in Apple's favor one bit. It's amazing how the media throws things out there that hold no weight just to get a reaction, cause a stir or ATTEMPT to change the facts...
