  • Even if BB comes out with the best hardware there is no way I am going back to 3rd class apps. Just take a look at the perico pirata app or any of their other terrible apps. One can only hope BB will attract good developers but in the end who wants to develop for a sinking platform

  • You are crazy. I made the mistake of having this same stupid thought pattern when I had my iPhone 4 and dropped it for the BB 9930. I hated so much, no apps, slow, buggy, and I went through 3 replacements. Sold it and got a Nexus Galaxy and finally I am back with an iPhone 5. Moral of the story. Unless you only text or email go with a iPhone or even an Android. BB10 will no doubt be better but will have no apps! The internet browser probably still is terrible. Why would you want to buy a device from a drowning company?

  • Honestly too much of the iPhone 5 details spilled out before the release, but in my eyes it didn't effect me buying it. Actually the iPhone 5 is so compelling I bought it at full price and sold my Galaxy Nexus. The only time I did this was with the iPhone 4 when I ditched T-Mobile and paid the full early termination to join AT&T just because I thought the iPhone 4 was revolutionary. Is the iPhone revolutionary like the 4? No, but it's still more than an upgrade compared to the iPhone "s" series.

    Some major points:
    LTE
    4"
Finally got maps and no they aren't as bad as everyone says they are
iMessage compares to my past Blackberry
    Updated GMail
    Top 3 smart phone cameras
    New design
    more ram
    better processor

so how does that not "wow" enough?

I guess everyone doesn't see the 5 has radical because wasn't like the 3GS to iPhone 4 where it was a jump from a low resolution plastic phone to a industrial metal and glass high resolution phone. Personally for the iPhone 6 I think apple should go back to the curve design and IMO I don't care if it's plastic.

I have never been sold on the "s" series because there such trivial updates. Siri that was horrible when first released, processor, slightly better camera. I am more interested in the iPhone 6 or if Apple will fall to pressure and do 6-9 month cycles. Honestly keep the hype machine going and stay with the 12 month cycles.

Apple has never had the best specs so don't worry about the GS4 having 8 cores or some phone being 5.5". Just do you Apple!

  • @cpa1410
So you main reason to buy the Galaxy 3 (which is a good phone) was due to S-Voice? Because if that's true why didn't you get the iPhone 5 with Siri which can computerate commands much better. That's not to say that Siri isn't flawed, but S-Voice is terrible and Siri is okay. I do agree iOS feel the same as it did with the iPhone 3 series, but at least it has that constant identity. Android is a younger iOS and looks and feel is a so fragmented because of carriers. The only Android device I would go back to is another Nexus device.

  • I agree. iOS is more efficient even with only a dual 1GHZ processor and 1400mah battery. My GNEX froze all the time so I rooted it and it got a little better put still was laggy. Android puts out some great specs like 5.0 1080P screens, quad core processors, 2GB Ram, etc but they still don't match the OVERALL performance of a iPhone

  • ordered mine last night and said in stock and usually takes 1 hour to process. I was so happy that I didn't have to wait 4-6 weeks. I pretense this by saying I own a Galaxy Nexus (Android) and would be buying a 16GB Verizon Black iPhone for the full $650.

I waited all morning to receive my pickup email but nothing came. I called customer service twice and the store twice. Both of then shuffled me around and said you will be receiving a text and or email.

Finally one half smart customer service rep called the store herself and found out they didn't have any. She called it a glitch in their system

    so overall a major headache

I understand inventory problems can happen, but I paid in full and was counting on the fact that the store and customer service said it was originally in stock

These are the moments when just out of spite I want to go buy an Android instead

  • Ordered my last night at 10PM for store pickup. It said the item was in stock and usually it takes an hour to process the order. It's 1:00PM the next day and I still haven't received an email. I guess this still beats waiting 2-6 weeks, but has anyone else had this problem of your iPhone not being ready?

I was picking mine up at
    Upper West Side
    1981 Broadway

I should have picked the 5th Avenue store since it's closer to me and had the white one in stock.

  • I will also add current laptop models are mostly 15% off retail. last generation would be usually 17%, and three generations past would be 20+% off

  • Last two laptops I have bought were refurbished. 2010 Macbook Air 11" base model $1000 bought it for $900. 2012 Macbook Air i7 8GB 256GB $1700 bought it for $1450.

Apple doesn't do sales on their computers so this is the best way to get a discounted computer besides a student discount.

you still have the ability to buy Apple Care. Only downside in my opinion are stock is limited and new models take months to show up on the refurbished site. So no Macbook Pro retina 15" as of yet
