General Motors Garbage
Let the guy have his Tahoe. Its still, unfortunately, made by
General Motors, will have pathetic resale value, is rollover prone
and basically not near as safe as its made out to be (safer if it
hits YOU). Like other big SUV's, it's truck platform engineering
which is cheap for GM to design and build with a big retail price
markup. And BTW, getting back to resale, when the price of gas
catches up to the current oil price, you won't be able to give
these things away, hybrid or not. And...getting back to the fact
that its made by GM. I would not want to purchase any GM
product with fairly untested technology such as a hybrid
drivetrain. GM has a really bad track record with such
innovation. And they are such a brilliant company! When they
actually DID develop a decent innovative product like the EV-1 in
California, they dumped it rather than take a chance on
developing a following and market share. Then Toyota kicked
their ass with the Prius...

Great ad campaign BACKFIRE
GM set itself up for this humiliation. Ha Ha. This is nothing
though. The big deal here is GM 's supposed "road to recovery",
(road to avoid bankruptcy), a recovery that relies on continued
high volume sales of these high markup, poorly engineered and
cheap to make, 6500 lb. truck framed vehicles that few people
need to be driving. With 3, 4, 5 dollar/gallon gas, I'm sorry...they
are doomed. And the responses to this story....well, I just want
to get out my violin and play "cry me a river". Like "many people
need SUV's" Pleeeease!!!!!!! Ten years ago nobody drove these
things. Its a fad pure and simple and one that will end up on the
scrapheap of automobile BAD IDEAS. I look forward to gas
rationing so I can laugh at the Mommies that drive, alone, in
their Suburbans, running errands all over town. They are going
to whine real loud when all they get is 10 gallons a week for
their "bubbamobile" I'm in hysterics just thinging about it!
