• Your battery needs replacing - but is your AC adaptor safe?
  I've just identified that the battery in my daughter's DELL laptop is subject to recall and have ordered a free replacement on the DELL website. The site also advised not to use the old battery, but to use the AC adaptor until the new battery arrived.
  
  However, when looking for more information on the subject, I noted that there was also a recall on certain AC adaptors on the same ranges of DELL laptop for similar (self combusting!) reasons. So if you've got a dodgy battery, check out your adaptor's OK as well on https://www.delladapterprogram.com/multiorder.aspx
  
  If it's not OK, you may want to use another PC until both battery and adaptor are replaced!
