My comments

  • M$
If M$ had the laws in force at the time of it's inseption with IBM the software obtained would have certainly been in violation.

The code from Linux came from Unix not M$.M$ may claim those accusations of 235 pattents but they have not specified them. There intelectual property is broad and vague at best.

  • Mr. Anderson...
Run Neo,this can not be good. The only thing that linux could gain would be cross compaible gaming the last windows holdout.
So in the future linux will buil evrey 5 to 10 years instead of 6 months and become incredably bloated?

  • There is at least one reason
That reason is not being able to play current gaming software on linux. Some titles can be played and thanks to id software, cedega and crossover linux but there is still a huge gap.

  • Ubuntu
I don't use Ubuntu and can not see why it is so popular.I'm not saying it is a bad choice. They are constantly upgrading and have a good quick build cycle.I have used Mepis wich use's the repository from Ubuntu and it is a good distro.
I use Pclinux os 07 now and I like it although not excited about rpm.I am able to get compiz/beryl working easily.I have not tried wifi but all linux distro's will get it working soon.My camera and printer were simple to set up.The "pinguin" is coming up very quickly and the "butterfly" know's that.

  • "Partners'
I don't no wether to be happy or scared.I like freedom and Microsoft likes money. How could they coperate with open source companies? What would they hope to gain as they already have market share(Vista Omg! can we get a bigger more expensive, clunky os)Flash player updates are slow to come to linux but they are free.So Microsoft is going to give stuff away...Hmmm?

  • Vonage gets my vote
I have to disagree.I think vonage is a good company and a good use of technology.I beleive Verizon has been draging it's feet for way to long on fiber optic.I don't think they would need to sue if they could have pushed there T1 a couple of years sooner. • Blame HP no more
Linux is slowly creeping up on the big butterfly...my .02
Most people don't realize how good linux is right now.It is more user friendly than ever.I don't even use the terminal window. It auto detects hardware.I even used my digital camera to upload to the drive.Printer works fine. Not to sure about the scanner though.
One hurdle has been wireless detection. In reply to: "Late for work? Blame HP"
