It's the manufacturing
It's not about the speed, although the Power5's are getting a bit long-in-the-tooth compared to the Core Duos. Apple has had a spotty track record in being able to get the processors they need when they need them. By switching to Intel, they know the inventory will be there when they need so they won't be left short-stocked.October 12, 2006
