Answer to portrait mode:
Type? Yes! With the keyboard? No! However, this is something that IS done with pure tablets with detachable keyboards in portrait mode. With a convertible you typically would type with with the on screen keyboard using the pen, if necessary while in portrait mode. However, most folks find this activity slow and annoying. Typically, people write with the pen for possible conversion to text (if desired) or speak to the computer for speech recognition and conversion to text.
Web surfing is much more enjoyable with tablets, portrait mode is a matter of preference. Hope that helps.

Yes, 60 GB HD!
Go to the thinkpad website. Click on "literature" and scroll down to the "tabbook" pdf. This lists the model numbers and specs on all thinkpads and thinkpad tablets. A few are available with the 60 gig hd, still 4200 rpm. If you want a good deal, go to the thinkpad site, click on X-series (not tablets), click view all models, and scroll down to this package for $2099: model W7TABLP. Also see the tablet pc buzz website - worth your while.
See you.

Very nice response
I have a feeling that people who work for the competition post stuff like this. This machine is great (see my post) No, I don't work for IBM/Lenovo. I just like a quality product.

Thank you!
Ordered the extra RAM from crucial, $139 for a gig, which is much less expensive than lenovo direct.
No dock, since this is not my primary comp. However, I did get the USB powered portable multiburner (very tiny) for flights. Best of luck!
