  • Oh and satellite does not count as competition as far as I am concerned. Knowing firsthand how satellite "broadband" works at crawling slow speeds, not to mention minor atmospheric disturbances toy with it all the time, along with their TV service...another scam they should be looking into it. • I was being sarcastic when I said "Can you say socialism anyone?" due to the fact that these days everything is being labeled so. Helping others is not an issue, but when all these "taxes" that are supposed to be going towards something...I want to see some proof of accomplishment. Everyone should at least have ADSL/DSL service through their phone, unless you're telling me that there are places in US that still don't have phone lines, even though this "fund" has been going at it for quite some time. • "Universal Service Fund. This program, which also provides funding for schools and libraries through its E-rate program, is funded by consumers, who are charged extra fees on their long-distance phone bills."

    Can you say socialism anyone?

By the way, they should look into the scam that cable boxes are, where they make us rent them and not providing an option to buy the boxes. At $7.50 a month for the last 4 years with my ONLY local cable company available(even though they advertise how they're the best from all the non-existent competition), that's a load of money they are siphoning off. Not to mention sky high prices. In reply to: "FCC digs into broadband controversies"

they are trying to force him to self-incriminate himself. If they get their way then they could do this just about with anything, and if you lie they you're guilty of perjury...
