  • This Just In: Safari Sucks
What a waste of time and development. Hey Appple, if you want to concentrate on Safari, then concentrate on making it better on OS-X. I use Firefox or OmniWeb on my Macs as Safari is slow and clunky. None of my fellow macintards use Safari. Just because apple makes it, does not mean it is good. • Shades of Early Apple...
Apple II (PS2) The big hit of the company and the only unit creating revenue. The Macintosh (PS3), had all this fanfare, all this glitz, but not what the market needed at the time. The PS3 will live of the money that the PS2 brings in is possible that it will not bring in positive cash until the very end. Now the layoffs.

This is going to hurt, especially since it is now in third place and this is their console for at least the next 3-4 years. Sorry Sony, Not everyone has the dough to have HDTV(have you seen the PS3 on a regular TV? Yuk), not everyone can shell out $600+ for a game console. There are more lower-class income then middle-class, and both are more than the higher class.

    Bottom Line:
Wii is fun, cheap, and works great with exisiting/legacy TVs. Xbox 360 is fun, cheap(PS3 compared), and works great with existing/legacy TVs. PS3 is expensive, has no games, and does not looks ok on newer sets, but not older TVs. In reply to: "Layoffs hit Sony's PlayStation unit"

  • Read between the lines. Here is what he really said..
"We had some tough decisions to make, so we decided to shoot
our virtualization strategy in the head, eat paste, and invest in
VMware. This is the only way to be sure that we WILL NEVER HAVE
THE CHANCE grow in the VM solution business." It's like
watching a car crash in slow motion...over and over....and...

  • lol...best quote.
Shipping? A Feature? Wow! It is almost mind numbing how idiotic
Microsoft is looking these days. Say what you want to about M$,
but cmon! Are they serious? This isn't the 90's when M$ ruled the
world. I mean their VM server sucks anyway, but to relase the
new version, without the new features, just to make the ship
date, is just flat out crazy. Apple delayed too, but was at least
honest about it. "Hey it's not ready, so we are going to delay."
Not hey, its not ready, but we need those WallStreet estimates, so
we will give you this broken software anyway. Nobody can bash
M$ as good as they bash themselves. Vista, now this. At least
Office 2007 is cool, so maybe they can support their company
    with those profits.....lol.

  • Mac users use macs....with XP :-).
As I am one of them. Until we see a Software Development
(Business Software) shift to OS X, we are going to be stuck
running VMware or Paraelles for the rest of our lives... :-). I run
a MS/Linux Nework, and I can tell you plainly, there is NO
BUSINESS REASON to upgrade to Vista. Talking to counterparts,
they have the same story. Less than 50% of our software works,
and some of these companies are HUGE players in the financial
markets. As I am one to believe that the market decides what is
up and what is down, I can tell you Vista is down. No matter
what the talking heads want to say. If Vista was so great these
companies would have been compatible since day one. Like
everyone else (with common sense) they are taking a wait and
see approach with the new MSFT OS.

  • Exactly:
Remember when a 166 64Ram PC ran everything so well? Blame
the software developers and their bloated software packages.
Other than games, how much do you really need to run Office,
OpenOffice, Web Browsers? Not much at all. Does your office
2003/2007 run that much better than Office 2000, 97 did?
Other than hardware failures (as we are talking about 10 year
old components), everything could still run fine for you. It's
because PC's have become entertainment centers, as opposed to
just workstations. We need bells, and yes we need whistles too.
That is just the way we are. Just like those stupid 'bug-eyed"
sunglasses that all the woman wear now, it is just a popular
accessory, that is not functional and serves no purpose other
    than style.

  • Running XP in Parallels...
I have a 2.33 MacBook Pro, and I get a good 1:40 of battery life
when running and using both XP and OS X applications. I would
hate to see what Vista would do to this. Vista has slowed down
every other PC I have put it on, so I am going to stick with XP for a
    while.
