  • Hydrogen fueling system is the existing natural gas distribution system plus off-the-shelf reformers at local service stations from Air Products with advertised 90% efficiency ranges and the same natural gas used to make gasoline would be enough for fuel cell cars.
An initial step in refining is adding hydrogen, then in the cat-cracker more hydrogen is added and then its was blended with 10% oxidizer (MTBE) made from natural gas. Reform natural gas at the service station and use it in a 300% more efficient system (fuel cell) and fuel cell cars can run on the same natural gas or hydrogen used to make gasoline, minus the crude (added carbon) or course. • My understanding is they got the FAA to approve it as a carry-on some time ago but they should have a mail-in program where you mail-in spent cartriages and they mail you a refilled one for a norminal charge plus postage, they should be able to talk the Post Office into it. If they allow self refills people could get fuel at the wrong concentration or get dirt and dust into the works and prevent continued operation. In reply to: "Fuel cell power for your gadgets"

  • You are in extreme error as hydrogen will be far more economical. Fuel cell cars are 3 - 4 times as efficient as regular cars (45% verses 15%) plus the regenerative braking. And in this world, hydrogen is made from natural gas and please remember, prefection is the enemy of great. Companies like Air Products sell common commercial reformers in a number of capacities off-the-shelf with advertized efficiencies in the 90% range. Sooo...., the hydrogen distribution system is the national natural gas storage and distribution system with a common commercial reformer at your local service station. Frost and Sullivan study indicates a 70% reduction in carbon emissions.
Then, a future source of hydrogen is reform of ethanol made from sugarcane produced in the US, i.e., southern LA and TX also FL, AL, MS, where it will be piped to market in updated (replace seals) existing gasoline piping system. This requires incredible volumes of sugarcane, we may need to raise cane in Cuba. Also, current fuel cells require platinum and there isn't near enough production but very recent research indicates that goretex is a superior replacement. Now take a look at your fuel cell future http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/19/la-2008-honda-surprises-with-fc-sport-fuel-cell-sports-car-conc/. In reply to: "Army backs the hydrogen highway"

  • Use H2 in fuel cell for 70% saving.
Today's fuel cell cars are about 45% efficient and cars are generally less than 15% efficient so we should use hydrogen from reformed natural gas fuel cell cars and then hydrogen is about 70% more efficient. The point of making hydrogen is to use it in fuel cell cars because they are far more efficient. In reply to: "Hydrogen vs. gas, worse polluter, part II"

  • How will the new customers affect TiVo?
I need you IT types to speculate on how these new customers will effect TiVo. Does more revenue mean better features, poorer service, more and far better IPTV is my hope, I'm tied of TV programmers scheduling all things of interest at the same times.

  • No need for mobile phone banking.
I can just do my online banking at home as I'm doing now. My cell phone has enough to do already. One more thing and may stop working all together.

  • Why not Foleo?
I have a keyboard for the Treo to take notes in meetings and for working on calendar and task while lessoning to the TV at home. That was about a $200.00 investment (2 keyboards) that may not have been the best. I get all personal email on Treo and review it also while lessoning to the TV so I'll just replace those keyboards with Foleo but it would be nice to have assess to full Outlook. • The Best have been on the Job:
The Best are those that have worked for many years in preparation for the day their talents would be needed. The Rocky Mountain Institute has the solution to our energy problems posted for free on their website (read the paper), hybrid car, fuelcells, solar cells, wind turbines, ethanol, bio-diesel, high strength light weight material, etc., etc., have been in development for many years.
The nation put its faith in a Vice President that felt all we had to do was "open the spigot.? Now it time for all to understand that the solution is to change to conservation to drive down demand and starve the enemy of our energy money. You IT types need to read the paper and let the Mechanical Engineers do the driving.
