Atleast this article had something other than rumors. Since apple said they would release it in January and the 26th is pretty much at the end of the month (no time left), I'd guess they would make their announcement then. In reply to: "Report: Apple event to be held January 26"

Had the plaintifs fired the earbuds from a 10 guage shotgun at a dummy to show how dangerous they were... they still should have lost. In reply to: "Apple wins appeal in earbud hearing-loss lawsuit"

I'm not shocked. But I do remember the DOJ lawsuit against microsoft in the 90's and one of the contested articles was microsoft not allowing any other browser icon on the desktop other than IE. I'm waiting for someone to complain about this one... no other browser choices on google's home page. I don't really care, but it's something I expect will happen sooner or later. Just think, the EU could extort more fines to pad their pockets. In reply to: "Google makes its home page a Chrome page"

Then get a PC tablet where you can swivel the display back around like a laptop and close it. You will also have the ability to use it as a real computer (keyboard and all). In reply to: "Analyst: Apps the secret to Apple's tablet success"

I have to agree with Myles on this. First, the background check can only pull up information that is a matter of public record (criminal convictions are public record). Second, there are good and sufficient reasons for needing to know what type of person you are dealing with (i.e. you intend upon entering into a contract of some kind with this person like renting property). Too many criminals are willing to lie about their past to simply trust their word. In reply to: "How iPhone apps can ruin your Christmas"
