  • AT&T you're next
I guess the US Congress will have some balls to go after ATT next, for divulging american citizens information to the US government, and breaking US law in doing so. Instead, they're discussing whether to give them immunity for their unlawful behavior.
Their punishing yahoo for obeying chineese law, with yahoo doing business in China. Should China now start punishing Companies violating their law here in the USA, even if what those companies do here in the states is perfectly legal? • Totaly False
Apple forces you to buy their very good hardware if you want to play with their wonderful OS. there is no technical reason why they could not sell the os by itself; instead they chose to bundle it with thier over priced hardware. also they put 3rd party developers at a huge disavantage by bundling apps with the os. anyone remember confabulator?, adobe premiere?...Make no mistake, apple would be an order of magnitude more evil than ms is they were in a dominant position. Steve Jobs has sued his own fans many times before

How can you claim that ms, dell and intel have largely lost the server market? what do you think all this battle between the eu an MS is about if not server communication protocols? Why would they fight to open protocals to others if the windows was loosing market share anyway? have some sense in you. It's true that intell had lost some share due to amd technical superiority these last couple of years, but they've largely closed the technical gap and amd only has about 26% of the server market. It's the like of sun that have largely lost share, not the other way around.get your facts straight

  • That is where you are wrong
but ms offered to license source code as well as documentation and many hundred hours of support to licensees...Source code is the best documentation. period. it might not be the easiest, but it is the most complete. Look at the open source software where supposedly many eyeballs are watching for flaws...the documentation it comes with is the source code itself. Now for the eu to not be interested in source code is proof of their motive.

how can Microsoft be a monopoly when "75% of businesses in Argentina are on or moving to open soure" according to you. No one has to use windows. There are plenty of viable alternavies. Heck, any linux distro is more than robust enough and comes free, and is bundled with hundred of applications. If inspite of all that you insiste on using windows, then you find some kind of value in its usage. Also, ms has nowhere a monopoly in the server market for one thing, they've been increasing there marketshare though year after year. That should tell you something about what the market wants. These are usually businesses that want to cut costs and make as much money as possible. Yet they choose to buy a great expense some software while free alternatives exist and they do not have gun pointed at their faces...

Yeap, you are absolutely right about windows being vulnerable to users being able to instal executable/programs of their own choosing, regardless of whether those programs are safe or not. You are very mistaken if you think that implementing a mac os x like solution such as asking you for a password before installing a program will solve this problem. It'll certainly help with browse-by infections, but that's about it. Average joe will provide that password so fast so that he can see the new and exiting screen saver or the free online game for his kids...

  • Where does this madness stops?
As if ms didn't have enough problem with products delays. The all premiss of the this antitrust ruling is bogus anyway. For one, windows has always had a media player included since win 3 or so, second, most people where unsing many players for different formats. Real simply knocked itself down with no help from ms. They simply had ****** product. Competition exist in the market place. Just look at itunes and fire fox. They came out with fun and innovative products and people switched. Also, we didn't have another windows os since 2001 to bundle anything with it. So any competitor has had over half a decade to innovate and gain consummers mind share. But, no, vista comes out and all of the sudden it's their fault if you don't do well in the market place. This is where I really have respect for Apple. They were smaller than many of these company in the late 90's and were at the brink of extinction. We didn't hear them complain much (at least publicly) about ms damaging them. They went to work and created amazing technologies (os x, i live, ipod...) for me, the irony is where would real, java be today if it was not for ms bundling them with windows and helping create the ecosystem that made them popular?
