Inaccuracy
The inaccuracy is writer's quote and not my comments themselves. What I said, exactly, was this: "...The actual number [Google Earth unique users] exceeds the number of Windows XP SP2 upgrades." Unfortunately, the article left out the 'SP2 upgrades' part of my statement, but they did get everything else fine, and certainly managed to convey the larger point I was making, that Digital Earth technology -- from Google, NASA, Microsoft, Skyline, ESRI, and others -- has reached a level of use that makes the goals of the ISDE community reachable now, through the actions of those in the audience. My only regret is that some readers did not seem to realize that a simple misquote was more likely than a vast misinformation conspiracy. But since the web is a mirror of society, it reflects all types of people.
