Why 1080i?
If it is 1080i it is NOT HD! When are people going to figure this
out. I do not want high definition that flutters. Why in the world
would I take a 1080i signal and deinterlace it, with all the junk that
creates, when progressive format already exists? A 540 line
progressive signal is better than a 1080i deinterlaced to 540 lines
anyday. I will stick with my DVD until they get it right. By that time
the idea of physical media will have already passed and I will have
everything on a data array.

Perhaps for you
I'm glad if that is how it works where you are from, but in the
major cities like New York and Philadelphia, where I spend most
of my movie time, This will do nothing. I have tried to be very
nice and bring such problems to the attention of an "usher", and
I use that term losely as they usher nothing. I have told the
managers, this is usually met with comments of "I'm sorry there
is nothing we can really do.", or "What do you expect me to do
about it?" . Therefore, many in the theatres I have gone to have
found it more effective to make it clear to the individual
themselves to shut-up, etc.
Used to be that theatres would give you a free coupon for a
movie or a discount on concessions, not any more. There are
exceptions to the rule. A good example is the Ritz chain in
Philly. This small local chain is very concerned about treating
their customers right. AMC, UA, and Loews, can get stuffed.
What ever happened to the days of assigned seats, helpful
ushers, reasonable priced concessions. Think about it, the
movies were a place that people used to go to escape their blues
during the depression. The most difficult financial period in
American history and people went to the movies. Today a family
can only afford to go as a treat. Just like Hollywood had to adapt
with Color and Cinerama when TV came out, they need to re-
adapt, and make the theatres enjoyable again.

Fun, but dangerous
This sounds really fun, and I would love to see a real set up to
allow this to be done safely. I know that someone is going to
say, "listen to this dork". But think about this for a minute, I
mean seriously think about this. A mother is driving down the
street, with a kid in the back seat. All of a sudden something
darts out in front of her vehicle. A lot of people's first reaction
would be to either slam on the brakes or swarve to miss it. The
mother than, trying to miss the animal or thing that ran out in
front her swarves and hits a nother car and the mother and child
are seriously injured. SHAME on the cops that saw it and didn't
stop it. Personally, if I were a driver that had damage done
because of this, I would sue the hell out of everyone that was
there, and the town and Police Dept. And, yes such a lawsuit
could and have happened.
The game has potential, but it needs to be safe! Lets see if we
can figure out a way to make it so. What would be fun is doing
it on a NASCAR track. I bet if you were to set this up right, you
could get a big game set up at Disney's race track in Orlando.
Just an idea, KEEP IT SAFE!
