My my, such rampant fanboyism on both sides. As someone who has alot of experience with both operating systems I can say that I can hardly stand OS X personally, it bottlenecks every action you perform because it wants to be a simple and intuitive OS, and thats fine and for the most part it works...until something stops working or you have something fancy to do. then all bets are off. Atleast thats my experience, but thats just me.
As another poster mentioned the real problem with Apple is that they have been fighting competition since the begining. Under their license agreement it is illigal to sell a computer with OS X on it unless it was installed by apple themselves. Meaning no other company can ever make MAC computers, this is why apple is able to gouge the consumer and why prices are still so sickeningly high for apple.
Think about this, if apple had the same market share as windows does right now then there would be NO OTHER COMPUTER MANUFACTURERS, no one but apple could legally sell a computer with an operating system installed, except apple.
Until Apple lets go of its greed and makes OS X just like every other operating system that can be used by anyone, I refuse to support any part of the company. Microsoft has certainly had its fair shares of greedy policy and predatory pricing...but atleast they never tried to lock down the entire hardware industry so only they could sell computers.

iactualyknow is kinda stupid methinks, mac makes a great platform if you want to pay 3 times more and are fine with surfing the web and editing video. I haven't had registry problems in 8 years.
I'm really looking forward to android.

ummm, these miniature black holes are naturally occurring in nature, they do not (as you may have noticed by the fact that you still exist) 'suck the planet up' They simply dissipate on creation. Its a real statement about the way our media operates that you published this without any knowledge on the subject. They are not trying to re-create the Big Bang, they are trying to use the LHC to flesh out the theory by shedding light on some of the mysteries around the theory (namely dark matter). Get off the internet plz. In reply to: "Why the Large Hadron Collider must be stopped"

360 had the elite, new modle means nothing
If Sony having a new modle means the console is dead then microsofts 360 was dead with the creation of the elite? Sony has been mixing up its SKUs for months now and its a trend that will continue, your a fool.
***** the price is too high then that they are cutting prices...crazy...no crazy would be buying a console with a 33% fail rate (RROD FTW).
I own all 3 consoles (though I barly play the 360 because of lack of good titles and the wii for the same reason pluss the fact that it can't run on my HDTVs native resolution so it looks so awefull its hard to play) and the PS3 is by far the one I enjoy the most.

????
Nintendo has been "THE" Hot game...wait what? what year is this? is it the 80s and no one told me? Nintendo hasn't been "the hot" anything sense the NES, it has been in a HORRIBLE decline ever sense the N64 (good system, dunno why) hell the new kid on the block the X-Box was beating up the gamecube and taking its lunch money from day one. The new controller is somthing interesting, but lets not lie CNet. The Wii is two gamecubes stuck in a box together with a new controller, every one is rediculously priced and nintendo is gouging its loyal customers. Both PS3 and the 360 take huge losses per system, the wii makes a profit due to its incredibly old hardware. this thing is last gen, I kid you not there was a larger % upgrade in the move from the NES to the SNES hardware wise, in EVERY system actualy...every system ever made was a larger upgrade from generation to generation. This is last gen saying otherwise is a lie. I would rather a decent motion synsitive atatchment on a good console than paying 250 to play rehashed games released on both systems that just happen to have a new controller. I'll buy a golf game that comes with a wireless golfclub or play guitarhero because thats far better than some sort of generic motionsinsitive TV remote.
3/10 for trying.

Well never be a player, against licencing agreement
NEC made the chip IN HOPES that sony and Toshiba would concede to allow the hybrid players to be produced, the companys would only do this to hedge thier bets on thier own format and they would both have to agree (I assume thats the case with toshiba, I know they have declined to allow hybrid players to be produced but I do not know if it is also agianst thier licencing agreement as it is with sony) but either way this will never hit Amarican (or any other major market, if any market at all) the most I expect to see from this is one or two prototypes sitting in hitachi or some other manufacturers warehouse.
No new development, there are already prototype blu ray players, but none can be sold on the open market.
