Comments on: Buzz Out Loud 664: JaMoTo lays an egg

In today's news, we adopt a turtle, you should send some money to Larry Lessig (or a turtle), and PC gaming lives on! In your brain! No, seriously!

Responding to episode 644, HD DVD to Blue-Ray,.I feel it would be even more relevant to go Blue-Ray to HD DVD this way it makes us losers who jumped on HD DVD feel better and maybe I can regain some self respect. I know in reality this is a HD DVD post dream but I still feel like I am owed my dignity. love you Buzz Out Loud
PS Thank you for the nice eulogy the past couple of days it helps.

OK, now we need to give JaMoTo a Twitter feed so that every time she surfaces and pings the satellite a new tweet is added w/ her current location. It'd also be cool if there were some pseudo-random turtle-related comments thrown in -- like "Sticking around shore so I can lay some more eggs"; "Heading out to sea to get some sushi -- yum squid." Or even some list of sea-turtle related facts put together by the "experts".

P.S. I have an aunt in the Florida panhandle who marks sea turtle nesting sites so they won't be disturbed by man -- its a law in Florida that you cannot disturb a nesting site. See http://www.seaturtlewatch.com/index.htm for more info.

Okay, you guys are making me crazy with these cable cut conspiracies - you really need to educate yourselves about what you're talking about!

Of the *five* cables that failed, the first two are next to each other, so what ever broke one was probably what broke the second. The third cable that "failed" was actually taken off line due to problems with equipment *on land*. The fourth is now known to have been cut by an anchor and the fifth was actually over one thousand miles away, on the other side of INDIA.

No single country was taken offline. No country's internet connections were disrupted for more than a day or so. This wasn't a prelude to attacking Iran, it wasn't an attempt to disrupt Iran's new petroleum market and it wasn't done by a U.S. submarine, because the submarine in question was actually in a different ocean at the time.

I'm sorry I'm going on a rant about this, but people have been spewing these conspiracy theories for weeks and, unfortunately, far too many people seem to be taking them seriously. Experts have stated that cables break constantly and the only unusual occurrence here is that several cables connecting to the same part of the world went at around the same time.
