On Thursday, Samsung and T-Mobile announced that the Samsung Behold II will be available starting November 18 for $229.99 with a two-year contract.

First announced at CTIA Fall 2009, the Behold II is Samsung's second Android device. It uses Samsung's TouchWiz interface and includes a 3D cube navigation menu for the phone's multimedia features.

The smartphone also has a 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen and a 5-megapixel camera. While we're all about the AMOLED display, we think the price is a little high, considering that the Behold II is running Android 1.5 and the Motorola Droid is running Android 2.0 and costs about $30 less.

Samsung actually stopped by our offices and left us with a Behold II of our very own. While we work on getting you a full review, you can check out a preview of what's to come in our First Look video, and get more of our hands-on impressions in the photo gallery below.

Bonnie, do you have any word on the specifications, like the memory? Is it anything like the Samsung Galaxy (8 GB)?

I would not mind spending about 600 max, in order to achieve capacitive,unlocked;3G,MICROSDHC ****,FM; WIFI, BLUETOOTH 2.xx;mind control recognition;7 inch folding HD PLASM LCD screen, 1080p recording, nuclear powered battery...

Lol, the customizable cube thing is kinda korny. lots of korrrnnnn. :P Ok seriously now, I have a question, does every company customize the Android OS on their phones differently for every phone they sell? Like the HTC has some different user interface menu, whihe this samsung has that cube thing going on, why cant they just release a phone with just the Android OS, leaving it plain an simple and have Google make updates for the device to make it better and thats it?

Well because most wireless phone marketing execs are stupid, and simply want to justify their existence.

this is the one nice thing about the iphone. no whacky branding with funkified custom UI junk. Still Im looking to get an Adnroid phone, but I want 2.0 and something better then the Droid hardware.

That's simply to be able to differentiate the phones from other Android phones. Because that's a way for them to justify with coming up with a new phone every 6 months or so ;) . Not that I hate the fact that they are improving the tech, but all I need is to be able to being called and call, send and receive text-messages, for the rest I have my computer.

And that comes from a electronics enthusiast ;) . We are abusing excessive resources just to produce new phones. Where do you think the old ones go? To poor nations in Africa and Asia, we dump it there because it would otherwise pollute our soil.

Funny anecdote ( funny as in : "Hmm this milk tastes funny" ) In the 50's, 60's or 70's(I don't remember the exact date) we(rich nations) began dumping our old fridges to poor nations, because the cooling fluid from old fridges were tearing a hole in our ozone layer and were no longer allowed, so we gave it to poor nations, because we like to share our wealth with the less fortune.

WOW leave it to tmobile to YET AGAIN screw up a phone release.
30 bucks MORE and no 2.0?
Oh ya and that cute cube?
What are we 12?
Video says that the cube apps were decided upon by tmo.
Gee thanks for making it consumer friendly by NOT MAKING IT CUSTOMIZABLE!

I ordered mine today so hope to get started within the next few days. Can't wait to take a crack at the Samsung Behold II. From what I read on http://www.Behold-Android.com, The Behold II include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, a 5-megapixel camera, and up 16GB expandable memory via the microSD slot. Samsung stated that the smartphone follows on the success of its Samsung Behold and takes it to the next level with the addition of Android, bringing support for Google services and Exchange ActiveSync.
