It's shaping up to be another big week in the Google Android universe, starting with the official release of the Motorola Cliq and the Samsung Moment.

T-Mobile's Cliq went on sale Monday for its promised price of $199 with a two-year contract. When we reviewed the Cliq last month we found a lot to like about the device. The MotoBlur interface can be somewhat overwhelming, but the user-friendly design and loaded feature set round out T-Mobile's other Android offerings.

The Moment went on sale November 1. Samung's initial Android phone for the U.S. market is a good first try at the OS by Sammy. There were some attributes we didn't love, but the brilliant display and physical keyboard offer a contrast to Sprint's other Android phone, the HTC Hero.

Of course, this Friday, November 6, marks the full release of Verizon's first Android phone, the highly anticipated Motorola Droid. And rumors continue to suggest that Verizon's Droid Eris (HTC Desire) will launch that same day. Will it really happen? We'll have to wait and see.

Man do some research... "Samung's first Android phone is a good first attempt at the OS by Sammy." The Galaxy i7500 has been out for months in the UK with much love. So much they are coming out with the Galaxy Light. Oh well I guess you can play it off as you meant the first Sammy Android phone to hit the states without Touchwiz. Here is a link from back in September From CNET http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10345788-1.html Oh wait this is CNET my bad you most have already knew about this...

Thanks, I know about the Galaxy. I meant the first Samsung Android phone for the U.S. market.

Sorry Kent. Took my Prozac and I doubt I will be as condescending today. Really I more or less was taking out my anger towards Samsung/Sprint for this phone then you for reporting the news on it. I mean hardware wise it seems to be great, but put it head to head vs. the Hero and how do they expect to compete to the mass market. The general public will be enthralled with eye candy (HTC Sense) while the rest of us sit and say well it could have been a great phone if... And thats where I feel Samsung dropped the ball. It could have been a great phone taking a lot of the market prior to snapdragon processors hitting the market. Oh well I guess thats what I get for being a sprint customer, a bunch of phones that would be great IF. Again sorry about my attitude.

And the scary thing for Apple is, it may only be a few months before something even better than the Droid comes out. With the flood of Android devices that are hitting the market, a few are bound to be hits. No wonder Google CEO Eric Schmidt is so bullish on Android right now. Things are about to get very, very interesting.
