The discussion of metric is interesting to me as we changed over here in Canada when I was in grade 4 or so. Now, what happened to those of us in this generation is that we know an odd mish mash of units. Temperatures outside, well that is in Celsius, but when I cook I use Imperial measures, including temperature. The temperature of my parents' pool, I still do that in F. Distances and speeds while driving, km and km/h are fine, distances to object, metres are great, but when I measure to say repair something in the house, I use inches. Oh and I am 6 foot 1 inch tall, and weigh about 175 lb, I have no idea what my height or weight is in metric. (I could convert of course, but I don't).

I am just confused.... My 15 year old daughter on the other hand, does everything in metric, no problem.

Good show today.

However, it is hard to listen when everyone is rudely interrupting one another. When I'm listening to Tom explain something, I hear Cooley interrupt or make noises/sounds behind Tom and it is very rude/distracting. Maybe it's just me.

Plus, cooley seems to be the 'debbie downer' or 'skeptic' in every story. I am generally a skeptic - but I think he's doing it just to do it...

Mind controlled wheelchairs are technology from the 70s? I mean... please make a realistic criticism next time.

I live in East Europe and I have always used metric measurements, but when I talk to people in the agricultural environment (farmers) I can never understand them because they use chain instead of m^2. Weird.

In the previous episode 1007, Tom and Molly has discussed why Chinese government want to install green dam at each PC. It is very simple. So far Chinese government's net filtering works at ISP level, people can still use tools, such this one (reported by NY times: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/01/technology/01filter.html?_r=2) to get around. By installing green dam on PC, Chinese government can more effective block out information government don't people to see.
