Earlier this morning, the first render of a handset that could very well be the M7 (or very well might not) appeared, courtesy of Unwired View's "trusted source with access to the early firmware."
The simple illustration doesn't show much beyond a horizontal edge-to-edge screen and rounded corners on a slab design, but the alleged source rattles off a few more details: a 4.7-inch 1080p HD display, a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, an infrared port up top, and a $600-plus price tag for the unlocked phone.
These recent rumored specs contrast with some earlier details suggesting that the Android-powered M7 will have a 5-inch 1080p HD display, a quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro processor, and a 13-megapixel camera. HTC Source also pointed to a favorite HTC design, an aluminum unibody chassis.
HTC certainly needs a hardware boost against fierce rivals like Samsung. You can bet that the company will focus on its camera and imaging in addition to a high-end design.
