The carrier acknowledged on Wednesday that it had determined the cause of the service interruption, but did not provide further explanation today as to what caused the outage.
When asked for more specifics, Verizon spokesperson Brenda Raney told CNET in an e-mail, "Our 4G LTE network is up and running. Our network engineers and vendors quickly identified the issue and solved it."
Raney went on to say that HTC Thunderbolt users should see a return to normal service, while owners of LTE USB modems may need to reconnect to the network when going between 3G and 4G, though Verizon expects this to improve with time.
Verizon launched its 4G LTE network in December 2010 with coverage in 38 markets and more than 60 airports and has plans to cover more than 175 markets by the end of the year.
