This week's E3 2009 coverage continues as The 404 examines the Nintendo and Sony press conferences!

Each company made plenty of exciting announcements as well as some not-so-exciting ones. Will anyone really ever use a Wii Vitality Sensor? Sony officially debuted the PSP Go, which will be released October 1 for $250. We think that may be a bit much for the redesign, but the 16GB of internal storage sure is tempting.

We were glad to see all the awesome game announcements, including titles even our own Justin Yu has heard of! Yes, Justin, they're still making Super Mario games. Having not even made his way through the first quarter of the original God of War, Justin is still pleased to hear about God of War III coming to the PS3 in March of 2010.

Finally, a big congrats is in order to Blake Stevenson, the winner of our 404 logo design contest.

I must say this is a disappointing attempt to recap E3. Not one person really seems to know or care really what is important about E3. E3 is about giving publishers a hands on experience with what is coming in the fall, which is why most videos during the conferences are not gameplay, and using the press briefings to introduce new ideas and tease the future. Project Natal is right up there in that E3 tradition. This year it's a little tease, most likely at next year's E3 it's full out demos of games that are being released that fall. Same with gameplay for Metal Gear Solid, Mario Galxay 2, and Gran Turismo 5

everybody chill!

as we say in the show, the logo we chose will serve as INSPIRATION for our own design team. The end result will be a unique take on Blake's submission, with all the pertinent information included. We'll tweak it up and include elements from some of the other submissions as well, so let's not mutiny yet.

love, justin yu

The new logo looks great. The PSP: GO's price will drop, and there are probably features we DO NOT know about, not to mention download only games.

the Wii vitality sensor makes a mockery of a ligament piece of medical equipment called a pulseoximeter which measures pulse and oxygen levels. Its not a freaking toy and its freaking boring too. Nintendo was high or taking kickbacks from medical tech companys.

But have you yet to realize the implications!?!

Like, when I get mad at the Wii for slow frame rates and freezing on virtual console games, it would know that I am mad and give me a full refund. Or when someone in Japan beats me in Mario Kart for the billionth time, it just ejects the game and shoots it at the wall for me so I don't have to get up and chuck the game disk out and do it myself!

Nintendo: Raising up the future soccer moms of the world, one crappy tween game at a time!
