Photos of new MacBook Pro leaked?
Engadget posted this image of what it suggests might be Apple's rumored new MacBook Pro.
(Credit: Engadget)As we wait for Steve Jobs to take the wraps off what many expect to be a new Apple MacBook Pro, Engadget has posted a blurry photo of what appears to be that rumored laptop.
While the site does not go so far as to pronounce it the real deal, it does note that the photo shares similarities with other photos of laptop cases that leaked on to the Web over the weekend. Engadget also reports that the MacBook Pro will sport two Nvidia GPUs in possible a "hybrid SLI setup" it called "pretty wild."
Meanwhile, Boy Genius reports the existence of an $899 price point in the Apple Store system. However, MacRumors reports that price is likely for an LED Apple Cinema Display and not a low-end MacBook.

i would love to see what a mac netbook could do. i would probably buy it immediately if the price was right (599 AUD) or less seeing as though thats the standard price in australia for them atm.
As for people complaining about Apple: We don't complain whenever a PC maker releases some hideous clunky piece of junk, don't rain on our parade.

In all seriousness, who gives a rat's a$$? We're not talking about a ground breaking technology here, just another laptop with a "pro" sticket on it thats designed to make you feel less guilty abount dishing out two grand on a piece of technology that isnt all that great.

I switched to a Mac Pro six months ago from a PC existence that went back to the stone age. I have a friend to is Ph.D. level Apple programmer and computer science guru who thinks Apple is the be-all and do-all of the computing world and after years of listening to him technically describe why PC's are such design crap - when the MS extortion plan called Vista came out, I switched to Apple.
Now it's been almost a yeare - my conclusion is that Apple has equal or greater problems than the much lower priced PCs in both hardware and particularly software. Apple Mail has to rank as the all time worst email program that I have ever used - it's single attractive feature is it's ability to auto scale photos into an email. Apple has moments of brilliant insights in some of their graphics efforts, only to loose that value on extremely inconsistent software design processes like the use of inconsistent icons for basic tasks from program to program. I find just as many lock ups as I ever had with XP and my constantly over-heated Mac Book Pro hardware is no better - even though it cost twice as much - and is supposedly state of the art at the time of purchase isn't faster than my five year old Toshiba Satelite running XP Pro. The satin Mac Book Pro 17" screen is superior to other laptops I have had. However, because Apple's limited screen setting functions, I havel replaced its use with a much larger desk top HD monitor. The Mac Book Pro keyboard design, ranks with the absolute lowest rung of computer keyboard designs that I have experienced in the past 25 years - and so I use a wireless ergonomic keyboard. Now I have almost four times the cost of my old Toshiba invested in my Mac Book Pro problem resolution center and my basic performance ability or potential hasn't been markedly improved.
The idea that Apple software is some how more intuitive than XP was the biggest let down of all. If I didn't have two life time Mac people close to me, my transition would have been a total disaster instead of just extremely painful frustration. My perception and expectation that the Apple was somehow a less problematic and a superior problem resolutions system has been totally wrong. Now that I know more about the Mac and have more constant interaction with Mac users, I see that their problems are just a prevalent as PC users - just in different areas. To make matters worse for certain types of problems, I still have to go back to my old PC to resolve them - particularly involving financial software that doesn't have an Apple equivalent - an no I'm not going to use Parallels so I can use my Mac as a PC.
My general conclusion is that Apple is a religion with the appropriate blind faith followers, not a superior technology. At best my transition from the PC world to the Mac world has been a very expensive (time and money) wash - now I have an entirely different set of problems to deal with, but no real gains in problem resolution ability.

- I know some people are saying what is the big deal. Apple knows how to generate hype and put on an event. Plus their products usually live up to the hype.
