Electrolux was once the icon of European appliance design. Smooth lines and European chic were the brand's trademark. But Electrolux has become very comfortable with the thought of selling their appliances worldwide. The Icon line -- "Designed for the Well-Lived Home"--is perfectly elegant for any kitchen, no matter which part of the globe it is located in. The Icon Microwave is exceptionally sleek, indicative of the rest of the line. Its stainless steel panels let it blend in with any modern kitchen. It also has all the features that have become a requirement for the microwave. The Icon Microwave has a variety of pre-programmed settings, including five separate defrost settings. It also doubles as a convention cooker. The microwave can be programmed for temperatures between 100 and 450 degrees Fahrenheit, allowing it to brown and crisp foods evenly. There are actually two versions of the Icon Microwave: a countertop model and a slightly larger version for hanging over your range. Both are a pricier than the average microwave--the over-the-range version is available for $889, but just remember the design is beautiful. If you're going all out on a new kitchen, the Electrolux Icon Microwave may be a good choice.
