Store shelves can only hold so much. With such a wide variety of tastes out there, it is no wonder that options to fill the larder continue to grow. But a well-stocked pantry only goes so far. Even in a world where Amazon is expanding its grocery delivery service, fluid fanatics may still have a hard time obtaining the flavor of their fantasy. Luckily, for those who crave soda, there are plenty of options to create their own fizzy flavors at home.
The newest soda maker is the Hamilton Beach 85101 Fizzini Hand-held Carbonated Water Maker ($59.99). Set to be available in August, the carbonation system gives people the opportunity to make their own sodas and sparkling drinks without having to lug in heavy cans and bottles from the store (or delivery, as the case may be).
The system consists of the carbonating unit as well as an included one-liter bottle. Fill the bottle with a beverage of choice, and mount the carbonating unit on top. With a simple quarter-turn twist, the CO2 is dispersed through the spindle (part of the unit; not the bottle) and carbonates the beverage inside. No electricity or batteries are needed -- nor are any trips to the store.
