It may be needed due to a full cooktop or perhaps it would be used as a portable cooking device, but when the time comes it can be painfully obvious that having a skillet on hand would be quite beneficial. The George Foreman SK1403P Skillite Searing Skillet offers a bit more than the traditional electric skillet. Featuring a nonstick interior and an integrated grease channel, the skillet has the ability to control oil and butter usage by channeling it away from cooking foods. While this of course is a hallmark of George Foreman products, this appliance also offers more.
A reversible roast and steam rack provides an extra level of convenience and versatility by expanding the capabilities of the one unit. As used as a food steamer, water is added directly to the skillet, with food being placed on the steaming rack. A tempered-glass lid with an adjustable steam vent helps to keep food from overcooking by being easily monitored. With a 16-inch-by-12-inch cooking area, the skillet offers the ability to cook a wide variety of meals, making it more than simply just a secondary appliance.
