Webware Radar: Trulia finds people still want 'American Dream'

Real estate search site Trulia released a survey Thursday showing that the "American Dream" of owning a home is still alive even as the recession continues to plague the world. Daily Tidbits: Glassdoor tells you where to work

On Tuesday, Glassdoor.com, an online community that offers career advice, released its first Employees' Choice Awards, which lists the top 50 "Best Places to Work." According to the report, which features data from employees at more than 11,000 companies operating in the U.S., General Mills is the best company to work for in the United States. In the tech space, Netflix and Adobe made it into the top five and Google wasn't far behind in seventh place. Grayboxx adds user reviews and goes nationwide

Local search site Grayboxx is launching nationwide late on Tuesday, including all major U.S. cities in its coverage and adding user reviews.

The site, which was reviewed by my colleague at Webware in October, automatically generates business rankings and recommendations inferred from activities of people in a particular neighborhood.

For example, I might make dinner reservations with an online reservation service that shares its anonymous user data in the aggregate with Grayboxx and that action might push the restaurant up higher in the rankings. Yellowpages.com vs. Yelp: User reviews compared

This week Yellowpages.com added user reviews to their directory service. Much like Yelp, the new system allows registered users to post one- to five-star reviews of local establishments. I decided to compare experiences using both sites to see how they stack up.
