Japanese ingenuity for taking the mundane out of the everyday strikes again. This time, it's The Tablecloth Hour--an arcade game recently set up for a test run at the Taito station in Shibuya, Tokyo. It challenges players to quickly yank a small piece of real tablecloth from under a virtual place setting.

Lazy Sunday tablecloth pants: Kid-tested, slob-approved

I know these are still in beta, and I'm all for silly fashion statements, but I have to take a second to expound on the ridiculousness of these "Lazy Sunday Pants."

To the layman, these pants by Spanish design studio Mitemite appear to be your normal pair of loungey sweatpants, perfect for wearing outside to wash the car or get a quick bite at a local McDonalds, right?

Glowy tablecloths: for seances, or uber-awesome outdoor parties

As you may recall, Mike didn't really like the LED handbag that he blogged a few weeks ago, comparing it to The Blob. I think it bears more of a resemblance to a jellyfish, but that's beside the point.

Yes, the LED handbag was pretty ugly, but illuminated cloth objects don't have to be. I just found out about LumiGram, a French site that sells fabric commodities like bags, tank tops, and yes, tablecloths that are equipped with plastic optical fibers woven alongside the regular threads.
