Czech-automaker Skoda to reveal MissionL at Frankfurt auto show

Škoda today released pictures and information on the MissionL concept, which will be revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt International Motor Show, which runs September 13 to 25.

The MissionL concept is a compact five-door that will be marketed throughout Europe, Russia, and China. The market in India will have its own version of the car, Skoda said in a press release.

With production plans for the MissionL, the Czech Republic-carmaker will increase its sales to 1.5 million vehicles by 2018. Škoda makes seven other models and lists a dozen concepts that are in the works.

Skoda flagship to get VW's premium nav system

"Have you heard about the new 16-valve Skoda...it's got eight valves in the engine and eight in the radio." The old ones, as they say, are the oldest--and how times have changed since Skoda was the laughing stock of the auto world.
