What could be Andy Rubin's next moonshot at Google?

Andy Rubin is gone from the Android team, but not forgotten at Google. According to a blog post today from Google CEO Larry Page, Rubin will "start a new chapter" at the company. "Andy, more moonshots, please!" Page exhorted.

Remember when exchanging information at the scene of an accident on the side of a road involved a pen and paper with barely legible names and phone numbers? Well now there's an app for that.

Bisnar Chase, a personal injury law firm in Newport Beach, Calif., released its Car Accident SideKick app for iPhone, which will help drivers figure out what to do and whom to contact in the event of an automobile accident.

T-Mobile's twitter account was busy today as it confirmed not one but two Android handsets with launch dates and prices. Shortly after letting its followers know of the dual-core G2X, the carrier tapped the Sidekick 4G with an April 20 release.

T-Mobile also confirmed pricing as $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year service agreement. Considering that the hardware closely resembles Samsung's Galaxy S series of phones, this is a rather attractive price point for a 4G device. ORLANDO, Fla.--Slowly but surely, we're getting a more complete picture of the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G. Last week T-Mobile revealed the smartphone's feature list, and now the carrier has spilled the beans on pricing.

The new Sidekick will cost $99.99 with a two-year contract with unlimited data and after a $50 mail-in rebate. Alternatively, you can purchase the messaging handheld for $149.99 with a two-year service agreement and lower data plan, such as its 200MB data plan.

T-Mobile to shut down Sidekick data service May 31

It's the end of an era. T-Mobile announced this evening that it will discontinue its Danger data service to all Sidekick models starting May 31, 2011.

At that time, you will no longer be able to access data stored on Danger's cloud-based service, including contacts and photos. Internet and e-mail service will also be cut off. If you wish, you can still use the Sidekick for calls and text messaging.
