A lot of attention gets paid to how kitchens, and their appliances within, appear. This shouldn't be very surprising; after all, we tend to make purchasing decisions based (at least initially) on how something looks. In use, practicality often is affected by appearance; function and form are two essential ingredients in determining how well a particular appliance performs, and therefore how it is perceived by the end user. And sometimes we just want our kitchen appliances to be shiny. Really shiny.
