Sprint releases four QChat phones

Starting June 15, Sprint's new Chat will be off and running in more than 40 markets nationwide. For those not in the know, QChat offers push-to-talk (PTT) interoperability between CDMA and iDEN networks for the first time. That means that customers using the new QChat phones will be able to make PTT calls to both Sprint CDMA phones and Nextel iDEN handsets.

Sanyo only had a couple of basic phones to show at CTIA, but there's still a market for these things, so we're fine with that. First up is the Katana LX, which is a shinier successor to the Katana II, plus it has a translucent OLED display. It only has a VGA camera however. Sanyo introduces the Pro Series line of Direct Connect phones

Sprint announced a few Nextel Direct Connect phones at CTIA this week, and two of them are courtesy of Sanyo (which is currently part of Kyocera). Part of the new Sanyo "Pro Series" line, the Pro-200 and the Pro-700 are almost identical. Both feature a speakerphone, Bluetooth, Web access, e-mail, GPS, EV-DO, and of course, push-to-talk capability .
