Review: FilePop offers cool, unique features for video conversion

FilePop is one of the better video converters on the market, and has some neat extras in it, too. It has a very clean, attractive layout, tons of statistics, and even a built-in YouTube downloader. Its impressive speed really pushes it over the edge, making it one of the best converters you can find.

This download organizes file types based on what gadget uses them. It's a neat feature, but it would be nice if you could change what files were associated with each device. As for actually converting, FilePop is faster than many other downloads on the market. … Read more

How FreedomPop's free mobile plan will work

CNET Update features a freebie:

Is FreedomPop's free mobile plan too good to be true? In today's Update episode, I explain how the plan will work when it launches this summer. The free model runs on Sprint's network and has unlimited texts, but monthly limits on data (500 MB of 4G) and voice (200 minutes).

Paying for more data and voice on FreedomPop is still cheaper than going with a major carrier. In an interview with CNET Update, FreedomPop CEO Stephen Stokols explained he's targeting a price of $9.99 for unlimited calling, and $17.99 … Read more

Review: Kill some time with Tap 'n' Pop Classic (Lite)

The app store is filled to the brim with match-three games--variations on a classic formula that offer varying degrees of originality. That said, there are some that really pull it off--providing a unique experience that is at once familiar and new enough to warrant hours of time invested in it. Tap 'n' Pop Classic is such a game, albeit with a handful of issues that can make it frustrating in some circumstances.

The game is immediately familiar to any match-three players. You're shown numerous balloons of different colors. Tap a cluster of two or more (it's more of … Read more

Icon Pop Quiz 1.2.1 Review

Users who know a lot about pop culture may look for a game to test their knowledge. Icon Pop Quiz is well thought out, but its bugs and gameplay are problematic.

Even though it's available for free, Icon Pop Quiz requires coins for certain features, which can be purchased in batches. Despite being available through the Google Play store, the application took a long time to download. While the graphics in the menus were well designed, they were not intuitive. As a result, the lack of any user instructions was a problem. The constant presence of pop-up ads made … Read more
