A Monty Python sci-fi movie? With Robin Williams? What?

Have you ever had the kind of feeling where, after hearing a piece of news, your mind-body continuum is so confused that you don't know how to react?

This is largely how I felt on hearing there will be a new Monty Python movie. A new Monty Python sci-fi movie. A new Monty Python sci-fi movie in which Robin Williams will have a role.

It is nowhere near April 1.

So I have to take Forbes' word for it that this may actually come to pass.

It seems that the storyline will revolve around the original Python members involved … Read more

Media crowdsources, live blogs, crosses fingers over Palin's e-mails

I suppose, if you were of charitable mind, you could think of it as an in-depth analysis of the currently unemployed.

But isn't there something in itself entertaining about the relentless, breathless, technologically boundless pursuit for nuggets of joy from the collected digital works of Sarah Palin?

Should you have unaccountably lost several of your faculties and had to advertise for their recovery on Craigslist, you might not have noticed that Alaska has released 24,199 pages of e-mails sent by and to the state's former governor.

These seem to signify that she spent 38 digital pages a … Read more

'Daily Show' gives Palin historical Twitter hashtag

Sometimes, one's congeniality can get one into trouble. So much so, that those with wicked intentions attach a Twitter hashtag to your persona--one that turns you into, well, a target of sorts.

In case you have been recently incarcerated for actions against the state (or otherwise out of touch with current events), you might not know that Sarah Palin visited Boston yesterday and shone something of a fading bulb on American history.

She seemed to be believe Paul Revere's midnight ride involved bell-ringing and gun-shooting, rather than lantern-displaying, and that the Revolutionary War hero's intent was to … Read more

Alaska plans to release Palin's gubernatorial e-mails

The state of Alaska is planning to release 24,000 of former Gov. Sarah Palin's e-mails, which are likely to be closely scrutinized as the 2012 election nears.

State officials told the Anchorage Daily News that they're sending the e-mails to a commercial printer so they can be copied, a process that should take about four days.

The request for the former governor's e-mails comes from the media and stems from as far back as the 2008 presidential campaign, in which the former governor was a vice presidential candidate. Multiple news organizations, including the New York Times, … Read more

Republicans slam White House over WikiLeaks response

Congressional Republicans are starting to condemn the Obama administration for not doing enough to curb WikiLeaks.

In a calculated affront to official Washington, WikiLeaks is dribbling out hundreds of thousands of confidential State Department cables at a leisurely pace, effectively ensuring that new embarrassing disclosures will appear every day.

There's no "sense of urgency" from Attorney General Eric Holder to stop this, Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), the incoming chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said today. Holder told reporters yesterday that an investigation that's been in progress since the summer is still "ongoing,&… Read more

Gawker yanks Palin excerpt after court order

AllThingsD

Hope you've sated your curiosity about Sarah Palin's upcoming book: Gawker Media, which published unauthorized excerpts of the book on Thursday, has pulled them off the Web following a federal court order.

The ruling comes following a lawsuit filed Friday by Palin's publisher HarperCollins. AP:

A federal judge on Saturday ordered Gawker Media to pull leaked pages of Sarah Palin's forthcoming book "America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag" from its blog.

The injunction prohibits Gawker from "continuing to distribute, publish or otherwise transmit pages from the book" pending a … Read more

'Dancing with the Stars' voting hacked for Palin?

Will the overly computer literate stop at nothing until they have rent society's fabric asunder?

Will they spend their days and nights in constant digital subterfuge in order to paint society in their own image?

These vital questions need to be asked because there are serious accusations of voting irregularities that go far beyond any that have been leveled before.

No, I'm not talking about some obscure election for governor or district attorney. I am talking of Bristol Palin's stunning ascendance into the final of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

According to MSNBC, there … Read more

Palin's publisher sues Gawker over book excerpt

AllThingsD

Want to read parts of Sarah Palin's biography before it's officially released? Head over to Gawker, which has been displaying excerpts from the book since Thursday.

That's despite the fact that Palin's publisher, HarperCollins, filed a lawsuit yesterday against Gawker Media, citing copyright infringement. The post in question is still up there for anyone to read. Palin's new book, "America By Heart," will be officially released Tuesday.

I'm not sure what legal case HarperCollins can make here. Prepublication book leaks are exceedingly common, and happen most often because news organizations simply buy the books, … Read more

Sarah Palin inspires Shakespeare Twitter meme

There are those who believe that Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, has suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.

However, I believe that she has unquestionably been misunderestimated. It seems clear that she is far more in demand, far more influential, and certainly far wealthier than the majority of her critics.

In order to show just how great an impact her every word can have on society, Palin has inspired a new, vibrant meme on Twitter, one that allows those who were lazy and complacent in high school to finally exercise the relics of their inner literary … Read more

Jury convicts Palin e-mail hacker on two counts

A Tennessee jury on Friday convicted the 22-year-old son of a Democratic politician of hacking into Sarah Palin's Yahoo e-mail account when she was a U.S. vice presidential candidate in 2008.

The federal jury found David Kernell guilty of unauthorized access to a computer and destroying records to obstruct justice. Kernell, the son of a state legislator, was acquitted on a wire fraud charge, and the jury deadlocked on an identity theft charge.

It's unclear when Kernell's sentencing will happen. U.S. District Judge Thomas Phillips has not yet set a date.

In a statement after … Read more
