Progressive Automotive X Prize winner earmarked for production

Looking a little bit like the light cycles from Tron, but without the glowy bits, the E-Tracer 7009 placed in the top three of the Progressive Automotive X Prize competition in 2010.

Now the two-wheeled, two-seater has been renamed the MonoTracer MTE-150 and is headed to production, according to Auto Blog Green.

The MonoTracer MTE-150 has a Kevlar cabin and runs on a third-generation 150 kW (200 horsepower) drivetrain from AC Propulsion in California.

Xamarin developer tools reach Android 4.0, tablets

Xamarin, a company seeking to extend Microsoft's .Net programming technology beyond Microsoft's operating systems, has released a version of its developer tools that can work with the latest iteration of Google's Android operating system.

The company builds Mono, an open-source version of Microsoft's .Net technology for programming in Microsoft's C# language. I've heard some surprisingly decent-sounding, dirt-cheap speakers over the years, but quality subwoofer prices bottom out around $250. Sure, you can find deals on closeout models for less, but $250 or so has defined the lower limit of what you'd have to pay for a nice subwoofer.

Novell does Mono for Android

Announced today, Mono for Android widens the scope for mobile developers who use Microsoft's .Net framework--Novell released a similar product, MonoTouch, for Apple iOS devices in 2009. Mono is the open-source implementation of Microsoft's toolset, designed to make it possible to run .Net applications across multiple platforms.

iTunes 10.1: Music in mono

Some users are finding that after updating to iTunes 10.1, their music is playing entirely in mono sound. Though iTunes itself does not have the ability to change your machine's output to mono, the Audio MIDI Setup utility does.
