In the latest example of a Hollywood studio following its audience onto Facebook, Miramax will soon start selling and renting its movies on the leading social network--with a twist.

Though other movie studios have made the move to Facebook, Miramax is going a step further by integrating Ooyala Social, which turns Facebook into a social TV platform so you can buy and chat about movies. Miramax is the first to use Ooyala Social, which is still in beta till November 1.

Miramax and Hulu have signed a multiyear deal that will see some of the studio's top films come to the streaming-video service.

Starting today, Hulu Plus subscribers will have access to hundreds of ad-free Miramax films. Many of the titles will be available in HD, the company said, while the remaining titles will be available to users in standard definition. In addition, those who access the free Hulu will find a selection of 15 Miramax films to choose from. Those films, which will be rotated each month, will be ad-supported, the companies said.

Miramax and Netflix have signed a multiyear content deal, the companies announced today.

Starting next month, "several hundred" Miramax movies, including "Pulp Fiction," "Shakespeare In Love," and "Good Will Hunting," will be made available on Netflix's streaming service in the U.S. The deal marks the first time that Miramax has ever brought its content to a digital subscription service, the company said.

After a couple of blows to its streaming lineup of television shows earlier this week, there's promising news for Netflix.

The movie studio Miramax and Netflix are close to signing a $100 million, five-year deal to stream all of its movie titles, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal today. Miramax has more than 700 movies in its library.

It's not clear when the deal is expected to close, and there's no specific date given for when those titles would be available via the Watch Instantly feature of the video rental service.

After a bumpy start convincing media companies to embrace Google TV, the search giant is still trying to get the big media companies to warm up to the software platform.

Disney, parent of broadcast network ABC, plans to meet again with the company to discuss Google TV, which enables users to view Web content on TV sets, according to a Reuters report.

Speaking at a conference held by the news service, Anne Sweeney, Disney's TV chief, said: "More conversations are planned. I can't characterize them as negotiations."
