Apple's iOS 7 launched with a revamped design and new features galore. Not all features were welcomed, with some users pleading for the ability to revert back to iOS 6 or turn off some of the more "annoying" features. One such feature was the motion found throughout iOS 7, including the motion found on wallpaper images across all home screens.
No refrigerator is complete without beverages. Just think how deserted the inside of the fridge looks when that top shelf is empty. So sad. It could be filled up with beer, iced coffee, and iced tea, but instead there is nothing. Nothing but a wilted head of lettuce staring back forlornly. It is not pleasant imagery, but it doesn't have to be reality. Or does it?
The interior of the fridge could be a landscape of desolation and yet still be stocked with your favorite beverage of choice. "What sorcery is this?" the thirsty may ask. Luckily, … Read more
Dr. Emmett Brown made a good point in "Back to the Future" when he said to Marty McFly, "The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?"
If you plan on roaming the streets in a 1981 DeLorean, you might as well customize it to your liking. That's exactly what YouTube user DMCPat says in a video about the impressive modifications he made to his classic DeLorean, including adding an iPad Mini interface.
This 1981 DeLorean is a Vin 1880, which means it's one of the first 1,000 cars shipped to the US. It has many modifications, including a rear spoiler, a high-mounted third brake light, remote lock/unlock, new wheels and steering wheel, seal-beamed LED lights, LED fog lights, blue LED interior door lights, and blue LED underbody lights, just to name a few. … Read more
The Mac Mini is like Apple's forgotten stepchild. Since it first debuted in 2005, the small computer has only seen one major redesign in 2010, and is often left out of the company's dazzling press events. In fact, the latest model hasn't even been updated to include Intel's newer and more efficient Haswell processors, despite the iMac, Macbook Air, and Macbook Pro receiving updates.
Given that Apple doesn't give Mac Mini owners many reasons to upgrade, there are a still a good amount of happy customers using older models. We were one of them, but … Read more
With its long history, Opera for Mac stands as one of the most popular Web browsers in the world. Despite its age, this free product has been constantly updated and optimized to run smoothly and keep feature parity with the rest of the competition. What set the app apart from other browsers are the handy mouse gestures, the Off Road mode that uses less traffic, and the handy news aggregator.
When opened, Opera for Mac presents you with its Speed Dial interface where you can pin your most used sites, set the number of columns, and group sites in folders. … Read more
When iOS 7 launched with a redesigned Safari tab interface, we showed you how to manage open tabs. But one thing we missed that should have been obvious was a workaround to closing every open tab at the same time. Have you ever tried swiping away 10 or 15 tabs? It's an exercise in frustration, to say the least.
Thanks to a tip posted on Mac OS X Hints, the process of closing all tabs can be done in just a few taps.
Launch Safari and view your currently opened tabs. Instead of swiping each open tab away on … Read more
Citi Research has released a report that doesn't bode well for the iPad if its conclusions prove to be accurate.
In data-dense presentation titled, "Mobility Hardware and Components, Marketing Presentation, March 2014" released Wednesday, a team of analysts reiterated a familiar Citi theme, saying the era of "device exhaustion" has arrived, adding in the same set of bullet points that "we are NOT positive on Apple" (emphasis Citi's).
Opera Mini Browser is everything you'd expect from a browser with the Opera name, even in spite of some hit-or-miss features. It can run neck and neck with the other popular browsers in the Google Play store in terms of speed and performance. If you're still stuck on Android's default browser, give this interesting app a shot.
This is a version of Opera's full browser that has been shrunk down to look good on smartphones and tablets. Opera Mini Browser seems designed for the phone's Portrait mode, which means it will look a little cramped … Read more
Apple's iPads may be grossly overpriced compared with other tablets, but it's obvious plenty of people don't care: the buggers sell like hotcakes. Give credit to shiny hardware, an intuitive operating system, and that certain je ne sais quoi.
I'm a Kindle Fire user myself, and as much as I like the device, I can't help feeling pangs of Mini envy whenever I see Apple's adorably shrunken iPad. (It's the je ne sais quoi, people!)
So, yeah, I want one, but no way am I going to pay $299 for a 16GB, Wi-Fi-only … Read more
BARCELONA, Spain -- The Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini and its faster LTE-enabled twin, the Idol 2 Mini S, are smaller versions of the just announced Idol 2 phone. Sporting a similar metallic finish, the Idol 2 Mini, however, comes in more colorful shades -- such as hot pink.
Specs-wise, the Idol 2 Mini has a slim 7.9mm-thin figure with a 4.5-inch, 960x540-pixel display. I quite like the size -- it fits comfortably in my palm, and the metallic finish feels cool.
The handset's powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, and I found performance to … Read more
