There's a whole world of fan-made "Star Wars" furniture out there. A lucky fluffball has anAT-AT cat condo. A fortunate child has an X-wing fighter bunk. A talented furniture maker created an X-wing coffee table. Now, a handy maker has built an AT-AT liquor cabinet that combines "Star Wars" love with steampunk aesthetics.

The Emperor's Cabinet was created by Colin Johnson, a Vancouver artist who crafted the piece from plywood, mahogany veneer, and glass. Artfully laid solid-brass trim lends a distinctly steampunk look to the cabinet. Musical liquor cabinet puts your vices in stereo

I'm surprised something like the Swig & Jig hadn't been invented yet, but so glad someone finally got around to making a liquor cabinet that throws a party every time you take out a drink.

The cabinet, a creation of Alex Vessels and Katherine Keane for the winter show at the Interactive Telecommunications Program of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, features several compartments to store your potables. A reviewing and recommendation company called Living Social, which makes the popular "Pick Your Five" app for Facebook (and other social networks), has acquired BuyYourFriendaDrink.com.

BuyYourFriendaDrink describes itself in a press release as an "automated sampling solution for the beer, wine and spirits industry," but don't let that fool you. It's really a way for you to remotely buy drinks for your friends when you lose bets to them.

Google adds booze ads--with limits

As part of an effort to wring more money out of its online activities, Google has begun permitting text advertisements for some hard liquor in the United States.

"This fall, we changed our policy around beer, for the first time allowing advertisements of its sale in the U.S. via AdWords. And starting today, in response to advertiser feedback we've received over the years, we'll permit the advertisement of hard alcohol and liqueurs that target the U.S.," said Amanda Kelly of Google's AdWords team in a blog post Monday.
