We've had the dubious honor of reviewing several bug-on-desktop applications, including flies, ants, and roaches. Blech! All of those creepy-crawlies creeped us out, especially when we increased their numbers so that our screens were filled with their shiny bodies and skittering legs. We're pleased to report that Ladybug on Desktop is just as realistic as its insect software brethren, but with the benefit of bugs that are charming instead of chilling.

Vestalife Ladybug speaker: Not as cutesy as it sounds

If you have a favorite animal, chances are you can now find it in the form of an iPod speaker. We've seen everything from pigs and pandas to cats and dogs. Heck, even insect lovers don't get left out in the cold, thanks to Vestalife's Butterfly and Ladybug speaker docks. The Ladybug goes for $110 and rather outshines its cousin in design and sound quality. For those who are after a different-looking portable speaker with a reasonable smattering of extras, this unit could fit the bill.

A ladybug with multiple personalities

We really don't know what to make of this gadget, for a variety of reasons. First there's the odd combination of features--memory card reader, flash drive, USB charger, and a UV counterfeit money detector, of all things. Then there's the $9.99 price, which can barely buy a keychain these days. But weirdest of all is the design: a ladybug.
